How important is it for young people to have continuity in their educational, professional, and personal growth journey? When school closes for three months, what happens to the most vulnerable young people? What challenges do their families face?
The Costa Family Foundation aims to address these questions and the needs of the most vulnerable youth by supporting its first project in South Tyrol: an experimental path of socio-professional inclusion in collaboration with the Hotel management school of Brunico.
During the summer of 2025, at Vegabula - the vegan educational restaurant in Brunico open to the public - the Foundation will offer a group of 20 students with vulnerabilities the opportunity to study and gain experience with renowned chefs, enriching themselves both culturally and professionally through dedicated workshops.
Vegabula is a place of dialogue, innovation, and connection between different worlds: young people with different abilities; school and work; students and the community; humans and nature.
It is a place of meeting, union, and beauty. A place of experimentation and openness where teachers carry out the project with love and dedication. A protected space where the most vulnerable young people can find their dimension and express their full potential: unique, diverse, and unrepeatable.
The experimental project supported by the Costa Family Foundation in collaboration with the Hotel management school of Brunico will allow the young participants to continue their growth journey even during the summer. The extraordinary opening of the educational restaurant will also host culinary and cultural events open to the public, organized by the group of involved students and the chefs guiding them.
On Sunday, September 1, 2024, from noon to 4:00 pm, in the enchanting setting of the garden of Hotel La Perla in Corvara, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, the charity barbecue to raise funds for the Costa Family Foundation's experimental socio-professional inclusion project and the Hotel management school of Brunico will take place.
The day will be dedicated to inclusion and taste: the chefs of Casa Costa 1956 - including the Michelin-starred Simone Cantafio and pastry chef Annalisa Borella - and Vegabula's chef Christof Hellweger will create a special menu combining traditional and vegan cuisine. The event will feature live music by local artists Gota Music and Gabriel Colombani, along with the presence of students and teachers from the Hotel management school of Brunico who will explain the project they will be involved in during 2025.
The initiative is supported by: Ballardini Carni, Sophienwald, Fine Wines, Terre del Lagorai, and Cantina Mos.
The cost of the lunch is €90, and all proceeds will go towards the Socio-Professional Inclusion Project for vulnerable young people at the Hotel management school of Brunico.
